After two months of competition, the Cricket Premier T20 League is approaching its climax, with Challengers Cricket Club already through to Sunday’s final, while Telugu Royal and Tally Globe battle for the remaining place. Challengers secured their place in the title decider after defeating Telugu Royal by seven wickets in Qualifier 1. Telugu were bowled out for 147 in 19.5 overs before Challengers comfortably chased down the target, reaching 150/3 in 17.5 overs. Under the league’s playoff format, the winner of Qualifier 1 advances directly to the final, while the losing team gets another opportunity to qualify by facing the winner of the Eliminator. The victory was another strong performance from Challengers, led by Zappy Bimenyimana and Muhammad Nadir. They now have time to prepare for the final as they await their opponents. Telugu Royal, meanwhile, remain in contention and will face Tally Globe for the second final spot. Tally Globe earned that opportunity after defeating Right Guards by 45 runs in the Eliminator. They posted 122/8 in 18 overs before bowling out Right Guards for 80 in 16 overs. Led by Abhinav Rajeev and Eric Kubwimana, Tally Globe now face a difficult test against a Telugu Royal side that dominated the league phase. Telugu finished the group stage with five wins from five matches, topping the standings before their defeat to Challengers. They will be determined to bounce back and secure another chance to compete for the trophy. For Tally Globe, victory would take them into Sunday’s final after eliminating Right Guards. Telugu, on the other hand, will be looking to show that their impressive league-stage form was no coincidence. The winner will face Challengers CC in the final on November 1, bringing the two-month competition to its conclusion.
