Police FC's difficult start to the 2026/27 BK Pro League season continued on Friday, October 16, after they were held to a goalless draw by Gorilla FC at Kigali Pelé Stadium. The national police side entered the match seeking a response following their 1-0 defeat to Sunrise FC, but once again lacked the cutting edge needed to secure maximum points. Gorilla FC, meanwhile, were looking motivated after edging Rayon Sports 1-0 in their previous outing. They played Police FC without suspended forward Sunday Inmesite and goalkeepers’ coach André Mazimpaka, who were both serving bans following red cards against Rayon. The opening stages were cautious, with both teams struggling to create meaningful opportunities. However, the game gradually opened up as Police FC began to apply pressure in search of a breakthrough. The hosts came close in the 43rd minute when Christian Ingabire surged down the right wing and delivered a dangerous cross into the box, but striker Ndogouhar Bide Luc failed to make contact. Moments later, Samuel Ndizeye threaded a pass through to Tangara Keffa, whose effort drifted narrowly wide. Gorilla FC responded with a swift counterattack as Eric Nduwimana sent a low cross into the area for Mosengo Tansele. The forward went down under a challenge while preparing to shoot, but the referee waved away appeals for a penalty. The teams went into the break deadlocked at 0-0. Gorilla FC introduced Chancelor Ndong for Thierry Ishimwe at the start of the second half, while Police FC continued to push forward in search of a goal. The hosts nearly broke the deadlock in the 53rd minute when Alain Kwitonda's corner found Samuel Ndizeye, whose powerful header crashed against the crossbar. Police coach made further attacking changes, bringing on Asman Ndikumana and Simeon Iradukunda, but the hosts were unable to find a way past Gorilla's disciplined defence. The final whistle confirmed a 0-0 draw, leaving Police FC with four points from five matches, while Gorilla FC moved to seven points. Action continues on Saturday, October 17, with Etoile de l'Est hosting Mukura Victory Sports in Ngoma, Amagaju FC taking on Sunrise FC in Huye, and Etincelles FC facing Marine FC at Umuganda Stadium.
