One person was killed and 10 others injured after a car hit five motorcycles and pedestrians in Gasabo District at around 10pm on Wednesday, September 30. The incident took place at the place called Kwa Rwahama. ALSO READ: Five killed in Kicukiro fuel tanker crash Traffic Police spokesperson SP Emmanuel Kayigi told The New Times on Thursday that the injured victims were taken to several hospitals in Kigali, while the body of the deceased woman was taken to Kacyiru Hospital. He said Police were investigating the cause of the accident, including reports that the car had recently had mechanical issues. ALSO READ: Four killed in Gasabo road accident “We are following up to establish how it left the garage and whether it still had mechanical issues,” Kayigi said. He urged road users to avoid negligence and observe traffic rules, warning that careless decisions can endanger other road users. “On the road, any negligence or mistake could take other people’s lives,” he said. Kayigi also reminded motorists that drunk driving and driving without a licence are punishable by law.
