Kepler will not field a men’s team in the upcoming 2026/27 volleyball league season, which is scheduled to kick off on October 16.

The club’s withdrawal brings its participation in the top-tier league to an end after three seasons.

"Kepler will not field a men’s team this season,” a trusted source within the club told Times Sport.

The development comes shortly after Kepler finished third in the 2025/26 league campaign, defeating Gisagara VC in the third-place playoff.

Reports indicate that the club has been facing financial challenges heading into the offseason, followed by a mass exodus of players who opted to seek opportunities elsewhere.

Opposite hitter Wicklif Dusenge was the first to leave, joining APR VC. Middle blocker Jean Baptiste Tuyizere, opposite hitter Leon Fidele Mugisha and outside hitter Romeo Rwamuhizi subsequently moved to Rwanda Energy Group (REG).

Kepler has had two head coaches since joining the top-flight league in 2024. Fidele Nyirimana was appointed to start with the team before leaving two seasons later, paving the way for Jean Patrick Ndaki, who took charge for the 2025/26 campaign.
