Rwanda secured their second straight victory at the 2026 African Men’s Nations Volleyball Championship after defeating DR Congo in four sets (25-22, 21-25, 25-21, 25-20) in Tunis, Tunisia, on Wednesday. Coach Frédéric Guérin named an unchanged starting six from the team that defeated the Central African Republic on Monday. Captain Wicklif Dusenge once again played a key role in Rwanda’s strong start, scoring seven points, while outside hitter Eric Kwizera added four as Rwanda took the opening set 25-22. DR Congo improved their reception in the second set and capitalised on errors from the Rwandan side. Their more effective attack also made it difficult for Dusenge and his teammates to score freely as DR Congo levelled the match by taking the set 25-21. Guérin’s changes helped Rwanda regain control in the third set, which they won 25-21 to move within one set of victory. Rwanda maintained their momentum in the fourth set, with Dusenge adding three more points to finish the match with a team-high 27 points as Rwanda sealed their second consecutive win. Rwanda will face Cameroon on Thursday in their final Group D match as they look to complete the group stage with a perfect record.
