The results of the Advanced Level national examinations for the 2025-2026 academic year on Friday, September 11. The announcement highlighted achievements by students across general education, technical secondary schools, and professional education combinations. According to results released by the National Examination and School Inspection Authority (NESA), 102,261 passed, representing a national pass rate of 94.33 per cent. ALSO READ: 94% of A-Level candidates pass national exams General Education In General Education (GE), there were three top performers, each emerging as the best candidate in their respective learning combination. Manzi Nshuti Kabanda Brave, who studied Mathematics, Chemistry and Biology (MCB) at Petit Seminaire St Aloys in Rusizi District, emerged as the top performer in sciences, recording the highest weighted percentage at 98.4 per cent. Deborah Umwali of Cornerstone Leadership Academy in Rwamagana District, emerged as the top performer in Arts and Humanities, with 97.52 per cent. In Languages, Samuel Habumugisha of the Education Institute for Blind Children Kibeho in Nyaruguru District, emerged as the top performer, scoring 93.53 per cent. Professional Education In Professional Education, six candidates emerged as top performers, with each leading their respective combination. Henriette Umukundwa, who pursued Accounting at ACEJ Karama in Muhanga District, topped the Accounting category with 95.23 per cent. In the Associate Nursing Programme (ANP), Christine Uwingabire of GS Saint Aloys in Rwamagana District was the leading candidate, scoring 93.72 per cent. In Teacher Training Colleges (TTCs), Gilbert Isubirizigihe of TTC Kabarore in Gatsibo District emerged as the top performer in Early Childhood and Lower Primary Education, with 91.41 per cent. Justine Uwikunda of TTC Rubengera in Karongi District topped Languages with 94.55 per cent, while Aaron Ngirumugenga of TTC Save in Gisagara District led Science and Mathematics with 94.27 per cent. Pacome Irakoze of TTC Rubengera recorded the highest score in Social Studies, with 95.93 per cent. Technical Secondary Schools In the Technical Secondary School (TTS) category, nine candidates emerged as top performers, each leading their respective trade. Henriette Abayisengabarahirwa of Kisaro TVET in Rulindo District topped Agriculture and Food Processing with 92.77 per cent. In Construction and Building Services, Patrick Rugano of Nyanza TSS emerged as the top performer, scoring 94.30 per cent. Naomie Umunyurwa Karangwa of Ecole d’Art de Nyundo in Rubavu District led the Craft and Recreational Arts category with 94.74 per cent. In Energy, Fabrice Hagenimana of Mibilizi Saint Augustin TVET in Rusizi emerged as the top performer with 93.35 per cent. In Hospitality and Tourism, Patrick Bigirimana of Muhabura Integrated Polytechnic College (MIPC) in Musanze scored 93.15 per cent. Emelyne Gasaro Ishimwe of SOD APEKI Tumba in Rulindo District led ICT and Multimedia with 94.44 per cent. Olivier Niyonzera of Institut Don Bosco Kabarondo TSS in Kayonza District emerged as the top performer in Manufacturing and Mining, scoring 90.71 per cent. In Technical Services, Patrick Mugwaneza Manzi of Saint Laurent de Gaseke TVET School scored 87.44 per cent. Benjamin Gisubizo of Cyumba TSS in Gicumbi District led in Transport and Logistics with 92.76 per cent. Unlike in previous years, the top performers were not awarded on the same day as the examination results were published. The Minister of Education said they would be invited, together with their parents and school administrators, to celebrate their success in a separate event.
