Rayon Sports striker Daniel Muhoza has emerged as a transfer target for Croatian top-flight club HNK Rijeka following a string of impressive performances for the Blues in regional and continental competitions. Sources close to the club indicate that Rijeka have expressed interest in signing the highly rated forward in a deal worth around $400,000 and requested an opportunity to assess him on trial. However, Rayon Sports are understood to have rejected the approach as they seek to retain one of their most promising young talents. Muhoza’s rapid rise has attracted growing attention since he joined Rayon Sports, with the forward playing an important role in the club’s recent success. He was particularly influential during the 2026 CECAFA Kagame Cup, where he played a key role in Rayon Sports’ title-winning campaign. The youngster further endeared himself to the Blues faithful when he scored the winning goal in a 2-1 victory over Kenya’s Gor Mahia in the final, helping Rayon Sports lift the regional trophy. His impressive form has also continued in the CAF Confederation Cup, where his mature displays against continental opposition have reportedly caught the attention of scouts. Muhoza first emerged as one of Rwanda’s promising young attackers during the 2023/24 season with Etoile de l’Est, despite the club’s relegation from the Rwanda Premier League. His performances earned him a nomination for the league’s Young Player of the Year award. He subsequently played a key role in Etoile de l’Est’s immediate return to the top flight, scoring 10 goals during their second-division campaign and finishing among the league’s leading scorers.
