The relationship between a student and the teacher or lecturer is usually considered to be on the professional level. Falling in love in most cases is an involuntary action although it’s gradual process. Some people have had their matrimonial vows with spouses who were one time their teachers or students. It’s in regards to the matter that I interviewed people to get their say on the issue CECILE UWIHAYIMANA (STUDENT)Falling in love with the teacher is not an act of immorality because they are mutual feelings. One does not plan or decide with who they are to fall in love. HASSAN MULENZI (BUSINESSMAN)It’s not proper for the student to fall in love with their teacher because the act hinders concentration in class or during lectures. EUGENE KALEKYENZI (PARENT)This kind of relationship creates compromising situations such as awarding of more marks or grades that affect the education system and personality. CHANTAL UWINEZA (FLORIST)If the student is not underage (below 18yrs) then is very normal because people have the right to fall in love with whoever they want, so the job of the person is not the determining factor. CHARLES KALISA (SHOP ATTENDANT)Teachers are also human; they have feelings like others, so if there is a beautiful girl in class, as long as she is are not underage and the teacher is not married then they have every right to relate. CLARA BRIDGET (ADMINISTATOR) Most intimate relationships that arise from work related areas are usually considered immoral. It’s not the teacher and student relationship alone that is termed wrong but also intimate relationship in the working environment are highly discouraged, however love is just a feeling that is uncontrollable.
