Wednesday, August 26 Game 4 REG 73-46 The Hoops Rwanda Energy Group (REG) Women’s Basketball Club were crowned champions of the 2026 Women’s Basketball League on Wednesday, August 26, after dominating The Hoops in the finals series. A commanding 73–46 victory in Game 4 at BK Arena secured a clean 4–0 sweep in the best-of-seven series, allowing REG to retain the championship. Forward Chantal Kiyobe once again delivered a commanding performance for the champions, contributing 16 points and three rebounds in the title-clinching game. Power forward Kadidia Maiga also played a key role throughout the series, and her outstanding performances earned her the Playoffs Most Valuable Player (MVP) award. DR Congo-born forward Feza Ebengo led The Hoops with 14 points, while Vestine Tuyisenge added 12 but the former champions fell short before their tough opponents in the finals. REG will now represent Rwanda at the 2026 Africa Zone Five Club Championship, scheduled to take place between October and November.
