APR Basketball Club were crowned Rwanda Basketball League champions on Monday, August 24, after defeating Patriots 114–76 in Game 4 at BK Arena to complete a 4–0 sweep of the finals series. The victory marked APR’s 17th Rwanda Basketball League title, extending the army side’s record since its establishment in 1995. APR will now represent Rwanda in the Basketball Africa League (BAL) in 2027. APR started strongly, holding a narrow 24–22 lead at the end of the opening quarter before taking control in the second quarter, which they won 32–21 to go into halftime with a 56–43 advantage. The army side continued to dominate after the break, winning the third quarter 25–15 and the final quarter 33–18 to seal a commanding 114–76 victory and lift the championship trophy. Point guard Adonis Filer once again starred for APR, finishing with a game-high 24 points, five rebounds and four steals. Craig Randall II also scored 24 points, while Diagne Mouhamadou added 16. Randall was named the 2026 playoffs Most Valuable Player (MVP) in recognition of his outstanding performances throughout the semifinals and finals against RSSB Tigers and Patriots, respectively. The victory secured APR’s fourth consecutive league championship. In addition to the trophy, the champions received a cash prize of Rwf15 million. APR’s league title-winning years are 1995, 1996, 1997, 1998, 1999, 2000, 2001, 2002, 2003, 2005, 2006, 2008, 2009, 2023, 2024, 2025 and 2026.
