Amagaju FC’s newly appointed head coach, Canisius Nshimiyimana, says his main objective is to transform the Huye-based side into a competitive team that can win games and play attractive football in the upcoming BK Pro League season. Nshimiyimana, who spent six years as assistant coach at Mukura Victory Sports before becoming head coach, has joined Amagaju with plans to establish a strong footballing identity. “My target is to make sure we move up the table and stop fighting relegation every season. That is my first objective,” Nshimiyimana said. “Secondly, I want us to play beautiful and attractive football,” he added. The former Amavubi forward also wants to improve the players’ technical ability and understanding of the game. “I want to build a strong foundation through good football. I will spend time teaching players how to move with the ball and understand the game better. Even the big teams should find it difficult when they face us,” he noted. Amagaju also extended the contracts of assistant coach Jean Baptiste Hakizimana and goalkeeping coach Nicolas Maniraguha.
