The street has it that Rwandan singer Bwiza and her manager, Jean Claude Uhujimfura, are more than just colleagues in the music business. Social media has been abuzz with speculation after photos and videos emerged of the two together in Europe, where Bwiza had travelled to celebrate her birthday. What was meant to be a simple celebration has instead sparked talk online, with many now suggesting whether the relationship between the singer and her longtime manager has moved beyond music. It all started when Uhujimfura shared images of himself and Bwiza with friends at a restaurant near the Atomium in Brussels over the weekend. Danny Vumbi, an artiste believed to be close to the two partners, added fuel to the speculation with a birthday message on Instagram wishing her well—and wishing her happy times with her person, a language many took as a hint that something romantic was going on. Uhujimfura himself didn't help matters, posting footage of himself and Bwiza popping champagne, which he described as marking both her birthday and the release of new music. Given that the trip wasn't tied to any official business abroad, but was instead a personal vacation built around a birthday celebration, the rumours have only gained more traction. This isn't the first time the pair have had to deal with this kind of talk. Back in October 2025, artiste Bruce Melodie even referenced it in a lyric on his album Colorful Generation, singing Na Claude Atera Bwiza! (Even Claude is pursuing Bwiza!)—a line that reflected just how far the rumours had already spread at the time. Pressed on it then, Uhujimfura denied any romance, insisting Bwiza already had a boyfriend she simply hadn't introduced publicly yet, and maintained that whatever he and Bwiza share begins and ends with work. “The truth is, there is a situation when you create a strong bond with your artiste in line with work. But at the end of the day, everyone has his/ her own life. I hope that, when the time arrives, she will one day show you her man...and I k now him personally,” he said. He went as far as to say he'd be glad to one day give her away in marriage. Nearly a year on, neither Bwiza nor Uhujimfura has directly addressed this latest round of speculation. But fans and entertainment watchers have pointed to more than just the Brussels trip as evidence— including the fact that the two were in Europe at the same time, and that Uhujimfura has recently announced he has a partner and plans to get engaged, without naming her. That silence on her identity has only deepened suspicion that he could be referring to Bwiza. “They’re into it,” a source close to the two told The New Times. “Things have gone even further between them, and I am sure you’ll be among the first to know when they come out to confirm it,” the source added. Bwiza began her music career in 2021 after winning The Next Diva, a music talent competition exclusively for female artistes. The contest sought to discover and introduce new female talent to an industry that was, at the time, experiencing a shortage of women. Uhujimfura was the driving force behind the talent search, which was initiated by KIKAC Music record label.
