Rwanda has been awarded the hosting rights for the next two editions of the CECAFA Kagame Cup, with the regional club tournament set to return to Kigali in 2027 and 2028. The decision was made during the CECAFA Executive Committee meeting held in Kigali on August 6, chaired by CECAFA President Paulos Weldehaimanot Andemariam. Rwanda’s extended hosting rights come after the successful staging of the 2026 edition in Kigali. FERWAFA had requested to host the next two editions of the tournament. Meanwhile, CECAFA has invited Member Associations interested in hosting the Senior Challenge Cup to submit expressions of interest.
