Rayon Sports have been drawn against Cameroonian side Panthère Sportive in the first preliminary round of the 2026/27 CAF Confederation Cup following Thursday's draw in Cairo, Egypt. The Blues will travel to Cameroon for the first leg, scheduled between October 4 and 6, before hosting the return leg in Kigali from October 11 to 13. Should they progress, Rayon Sports will face either Mozambique's Black Bulls or Comoros' Atomic Ngomé de Ntsoudjin in the second preliminary round, with a place in the group stage at stake. The Peace Cup 2025/26 finalists will be aiming for another memorable continental campaign after reaching the CAF Confederation Cup quarter-finals in the 2018/19 season—the best run in the club's history in the competition. Last season, Rayon Sports were eliminated in the first preliminary round by Tanzania's Singida Black Stars. Former club coach and Amavubi legend Olivier Karekezi was among the African football legends invited by CAF to assist with the draw ceremony in Cairo.
