Gisagara VC have lifted the disciplinary suspension imposed on star middle blocker Ronald Muvara after he apologised for misconduct.

Muvara and teammate Cedrick Ngaboyintwari were handed three-month suspensions in June after withdrawing from the squad that was scheduled to face Police VC in the quarter-finals of the 2026 Genocide Memorial Tournament.

Their absence forced Gisagara to forfeit the match, ending the club's campaign in the competition.

Club secretary-general Edmond Gatera confirmed to Times Sport that Muvara had been reinstated following his apology.

"After reviewing the apology letter submitted by Muvara regarding his misconduct, we decided to pardon him and allow him to rejoin the squad," Gatera said.

He added that Ngaboyintwari remains suspended.

"Ngaboyintwari has not submitted an apology letter, meaning his suspension still stands."

Although Muvara's suspension was initially set to run until the start of the 2026/27 season in October, the club opted to lift the sanction early after accepting his apology.

Meanwhile, sources close to Ngaboyintwari indicate that the setter has become a free agent and is not willing to renew his contract with the Southern Province-based club.
