Officials at Baron Sports Gaming Ltd, commonly known as Forzza, have said they were left surprised after Rwanda Development Board (RDB) suspended the company's operations with immediate effect, citing repeated violations of the country’s gaming regulations. In a statement issued on Thursday, July 30, RDB which regulates lottery and gambling activities in Rwanda, announced that the suspension covers all of the company’s outlets, agents, digital platforms and any other gambling-related activities across the country. The regulator directed the company to immediately halt its operations and remove all advertising and promotional materials linked to its services. According to RDB, the decision follows findings that Forzza had repeatedly offered casino-style games beyond the scope of its approved licence, contrary to the law governing gaming activities in Rwanda. Forzza official reacts: We are also surprised by this decision as we have not yet received a full explanation from RDB regarding what went wrong. We have no comment on the situation at this time, Eric Rutayisire, Managing Director of Forzza, told The New Times. After the suspension, RDB also urged members of the public to refrain from participating in any games or activities organised by Forzza until further notice. The suspension marks the latest regulatory action taken by RDB against gambling operators accused of violating licensing conditions. In October 2025, RDB terminated the licence of Inzozi Lotto, which had been authorised to operate the National Lottery. The board cited the company’s failure to meet contractual and regulatory obligations as the reason behind the decision.
