Rwanda U19 women continued their impressive run at the Women's High-Performance Cup in Kampala with a commanding 31-run victory over hosts Uganda U19 on Tuesday, July 28.

After electing to bat first, Rwanda posted a competitive 190/9 in 40 overs, inspired by another magnificent century from Fanny Utagushimaninde.

The 16-year-old starred with 110 off 119 balls, striking seven boundaries at a strike rate of 92.44. Lina Ikuzwe provided valuable support with 19 from 26 deliveries.

It was Utagushimaninde's second international century of the year, having also reached three figures during the Nigeria Invitational Tournament, further strengthening her status as one of Rwanda's brightest young cricket talents.

In response, Uganda U19 were bowled out for 158 in 37.2 overs. Mary Namiiro led the resistance with a determined 66 off 91 balls, while Llora Joan added 32 from 38 deliveries, but the hosts ultimately fell 31 runs short.

Already a regular in Rwanda's senior women's national team, Utagushimaninde has featured in major international competitions, including the ICC Women's T20I Trophy, where she has produced several crucial innings.

Her latest century is another testament to Rwanda's thriving youth development programme and further reinforces her credentials as one of the country's most exciting batting prospects ahead of future ICC competitions.
