Singer and songwriter Christopher Muneza has apologised to fans after missing his scheduled performance at the Tunataka Ku Enjoy festival over the weekend, citing unforeseen circumstances that prevented him from travelling from the United States, where he is currently pursuing various music projects. Christopher was part of a long lineup of artistes scheduled to perform at the festival, which was held at Mundi Center from July 25 to 26. However, he was unable to make the show for reasons that organisers initially did not communicate. ALSO READ: Nel Ngabo, Christopher Muneza confirmed for ‘Tunataka Ku Enjoy’ fest In a public statement shared on Instagram on Monday, July 27, the singer expressed regret over missing the performance and assured fans that the situation was beyond the control of the event organisers. “I want to sincerely apologise for not being able to perform at Tunataka Ku Enjoy this past weekend at Mundi Center in Kigali,” he wrote. Christopher explained that unforeseen circumstances on his side made it impossible for him to honour his performance commitment. “I want to make it clear that this situation was entirely unrelated to the festival organisers. The Hottempah Collective team fulfilled their obligations and made every effort to make my appearance possible,” he said. The singer also apologised to fans who had been looking forward to seeing him perform and thanked them for their continued support. “I know many of you were looking forward to the performance, and I’m truly sorry for letting you down. Your love and support mean the world to me, and I never take that for granted,” he wrote. Muneza also congratulated the organisers and fellow performers for successfully staging the festival despite his absence. Organised by Hottempah Collective, Tunataka Ku Enjoy has grown into one of Kigali’s notable music and lifestyle festivals, bringing together live performances, DJs, food vendors and lifestyle experiences while showcasing talent from across East Africa.
