President Paul Kagame on Saturday, July 25, met with Gen Muhoozi Kainerugaba, Chief of Defence Forces of the Uganda People’s Defence Forces (UPDF), for discussions on cooperation between Rwanda and its northern neighbour. Their discussions focused on the strong bilateral cooperation between Rwanda and Uganda, as well as regional peace, security, and stability, Village Urugwiro said in a post on X. He was received at Kigali International Airport by the Rwanda Defence Force (RDF) Chief of Defence Staff, Gen Mubarakh Muganga. He had previously visited the country and met with President Kagame, including a March 2022 visit that was part of efforts to normalise relations between Rwanda and Uganda after nearly four years of strained ties.
