Rwanda has strengthened its global sports marketing strategy after English Premier League club Aston Villa unveiled Visit Rwanda as its new Principal Partner and front-of-shirt sponsor. The agreement, announced jointly by both parties on Tuesday, July 15, will see Rwanda's tourism brand featured on the shirts of one of England's most historic football clubs, further expanding the country's sports sponsorship portfolio, which already includes partnerships with Arsenal, Paris Saint-Germain, Atlético de Madrid, the Basketball Africa League (BAL), the National Basketball Association (NBA) and the National Football League (NFL).
