APR FC and Rayon Sports have learned their group-stage opponents for the 2026 CECAFA Kagame Cup following a draw held on Friday morning at Amahoro Stadium in Kigali. APR FC were placed in Group A alongside Uganda’s Vipers SC, Kenya’s Gor Mahia and Djibouti’s Garde Républicaine, while Rayon Sports will compete in Group C against Sudanese giants Al Hilal, Kenya’s Tusker FC and KVZ FC. Group B features Tanzania’s Singida Black Stars and Simba SC, South Sudan’s Jamus FC, and Somalia’s Mogadishu City Club. The tournament will take place in Rwanda from July 24 to August 7. Rwanda will host the next three editions of the CECAFA Kagame Cup, starting with the 2026 tournament, as part of efforts to strengthen regional football development and provide a platform for top clubs from the Council for East and Central Africa Football Associations (CECAFA) region. The competition, which is named after President Paul Kagame in recognition of his contribution to sports development in the region, brings together champions and top-performing clubs from CECAFA member countries. APR FC and Rayon Sports will carry Rwanda’s hopes in the tournament.
