MTN Rwandacell Plc has appointed John Bugunya as its new Chief Finance Officer (CFO), replacing Dunstan Ayodele Stober, who had been serving as Acting CFO since 2024. Before joining MTN Rwanda, Bugunya served as CFO and Executive Director at CIMERWA Plc, where he was involved in the company’s financial management, including its listing on the Rwanda Stock Exchange. ALSO READ: MTN Rwanda begins 5G network rollout He has also held senior leadership positions in the financial services sector, including serving as CEO of Prime Insurance Limited and Chief Finance Officer at Bank of Kigali. His professional experience also includes roles in audit and advisory services at Deloitte UK and EY Uganda, two global professional services firms providing audit, consulting, tax and advisory services. Bugunya is a Fellow Chartered Certified Accountant (FCCA) and holds a Master of Science in Finance from the University of London, a master’s degree from Oxford Brookes University, and a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting from Makerere University. He currently serves as Vice President of the Institute of Certified Public Accountants of Rwanda (ICPAR).
