Rwanda international Jeannine Mukandayisenga has described her move to Chinese Women's Super League side Wuhan Jiangda as a major milestone in her career and a reward for years of consistent goal-scoring performances in East African football.
The Chinese champions reportedly paid $50,000 (approximately Rwf73.2 million) to sign the prolific forward from Tanzanian giants Yanga Princesses.
Speaking about the transfer, Mukandayisenga said she is excited by the opportunity to play in China and is determined to help her new club achieve success both domestically and on the continental stage.
"Playing football comes naturally to me because it has been my dream since I was young. Football is my dream career, and I am happy to join a big club," she said.
Joining Wuhan Jiangda, one of the strongest teams in Chinese women's football, marks a significant step up in both competition and exposure for the Rwandan striker.
Mukandayisenga believes the confidence shown in her by the club has strengthened her determination to succeed at the highest level.
"I joined the club to score goals. I am ready to help my new team achieve its ambitions because they believed in me. This is a new level in my career and the beginning of a new journey. I will work hard to prove myself through strong performances," she added.
Mukandayisenga arrives in China after two outstanding seasons with Yanga Princesses, where she scored 20 league goals in each campaign, cementing her reputation as one of the most prolific and consistent forwards in Tanzanian women's football.
Her remarkable scoring record was a key factor behind her move to Asia and highlights a striker whose success has been built on consistency rather than brief spells of form.
Her strengths extend beyond clinical finishing. Intelligent movement, sharp positioning and composure in front of goal have made her one of the region's most effective attackers. Rather than relying solely on pace, Mukandayisenga reads the game well and thrives inside the penalty area—qualities expected to serve her well in the tactical and physically demanding environment of the Chinese Women's Super League.
