Rayon Sports FC have announced the return of club legend Sosthene Habimana, who rejoins the club as assistant coach to Francis Haringingo. Habimana is no stranger to Rayon Sports, having previously served in the same role in 2014 before stepping up as interim head coach during the 2014/15 season. During that spell, he earned widespread admiration for his leadership, tactical acumen, and deep understanding of the club's philosophy. His return is seen as a strategic move aimed at restoring continuity and strengthening Rayon Sports' ambitions both domestically and on the continental stage. Known for his commitment and strong connection to the club, Habimana is expected to play a key role in supporting Haringingo as Rayon Sports intensify preparations for the 2026/27 season. The coach had been without a club since leaving Musanze FC at the end of the 2024/25 campaign. He was also among the candidates for the head coach position at Bugesera FC before the Nyamata-based side reportedly opted to appoint another coach, whose arrival is expected to be announced in the coming days. Habimana's appointment comes as Rwanda's top-flight clubs continue to strengthen their technical teams and squads ahead of a demanding new season. Rayon Sports have also reinforced their squad with the signing of 22-year-old Malian attacking midfielder Issa Djiguiba from Real Bamako. Djiguiba arrives in Kigali after an impressive season in Mali, where he scored eight goals and was named the league's Player of the Season for the 2025/26 campaign. Meanwhile, rivals APR FC have also been busy in the transfer market, signing Mozambican goalkeeper Ernani Siluane on a two-year contract from Black Bulls. The 27-year-old is Mozambique's first-choice goalkeeper and brings significant international experience, having been part of the country's squads for the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations in Côte d'Ivoire and the 2025 edition in Morocco. The army side have also secured the services of Malian midfielder Mamadou Traoré, the former captain of Stade Malien de Bamako. Traoré helped the club reach the CAF Champions League quarter-finals last season before they were eliminated by eventual champions Mamelodi Sundowns. The latest additions follow the earlier arrivals of Amani Michel and Christian Ishimwe, with all the new signings taking part in the club's training session on Friday.
