After winning the liberation struggle, let us continue to liberate ourselves from the obstacles hindering our development. While paying tribute to former Rwanda Patriotic Army (RPA) soldiers, Nsengiyumva stressed the importance of embracing a culture of hard work and upholding the values of 'Ndi Umunyarwanda.' It is in this context that I once again urge you to embrace and value work, while continuing to avoid drunkenness, domestic conflicts, and other forms of misconduct, he added. All these achievements are the result of the courage and patriotism of the young men and women of the RPA, who sacrificed so much—even shedding their own blood—to ensure that Rwanda is secure today. The Prime Minister also called for stronger efforts to combat child stunting. He urged parents to prioritise their children's education and well-being, ensure they are properly nourished, and pay their community-based health insurance contributions on time. A secure nation begins with a secure family that enjoys good health. In particular, we encourage you to continue participating in health insurance schemes and to improve nutrition within your households, he said. We should continue to safeguard the peace and security we enjoy. We urge you to keep striving for Rwandan unity and to embody the values that characterise a good Rwandan citizen. That is what the young men and women we honour today fought for; that is what they shed their blood for—so that we might all live well. Nyabihu District Mayor Antoinette Mukandayisenga said the families that received the new houses had been living in poor conditions. She commended the security organs for their community outreach efforts, noting that they continue to support vulnerable residents despite their demanding responsibility of maintaining national peace and security. One of the beneficiaries, 80-year-old Esther Nyiramutuzo, a mother of five, praised the contribution of the security forces to improving community livelihoods. I have been living in a house that was in a poor condition, she said after welcoming the Prime Minister to her new home.
