SKOL Brewery Rwanda is deepening its investment in Rwandan football with a Rwf915 million, three-year sponsorship deal that will see it become the official beer partner of the BK Pro League from the 2026/27 season. The partnership, which runs through the2028/29 campaign, was officially launched on Tuesday at Amahoro Stadium. SKOL Brewery Rwanda Managing Director Eric Gilson and Rwanda Premier League President Hadji Mudaheranwa signed the agreement in the presence of officials from the Rwanda Football Federation (FERWAFA), clubs, and other stakeholders. ALSO READ: SKOL, Rayon Sports keep bond alive with new sponsorship deal Under the deal, SKOL will invest Rwf305 million per season, with the partnership aimed at supporting the continued professionalisation of Rwanda’s top-flight football league while enhancing the matchday experience for supporters. Speaking during the signing ceremony, Gilson said the agreement reflects SKOL’s long-standing commitment to the development of sport in Rwanda. “From the very beginning, SKOL Brewery has been committed to supporting the development of sports across Rwanda through various teams and disciplines. We strongly believe that sport plays a vital role in bringing people together, inspiring young talent and contributing to national pride.” He described the agreement as an important milestone for the company. “By joining the BK Pro League as Official Beer Partner, we are expanding our support to a national platform and reaffirming our commitment to the continued growth and professionalisation of Rwandan football.” BK Pro League President Hadji Mudaheranwa said the partnership marks a significant step in strengthening the league’s commercial appeal and overall development. “This partnership is a major boost for the BK Pro League. It will help enhance the league’s visibility, improve the fan experience, and create more value for our clubs and players.” He added that strategic commercial partnerships are key to building a stronger and more competitive league. FERWAFA President Fabrice Shema also welcomed the agreement, describing it as an important investment in the future of Rwandan football. “Strong partnerships like this are essential to building a more competitive and sustainable football ecosystem in Rwanda. We welcome SKOL’s commitment to the growth of our game.” The collaboration will include fan engagement activities, stadium activations, digital campaigns, media visibility and performance recognition initiatives throughout the three seasons. SKOL and the BK Pro League will also work with clubs, stadium operators, media partners and other stakeholders to implement activities in line with football governance standards. In a message read during the launch, SKOL shareholder Thibault Relecom thanked partners for their continued support. “Together, we are building something meaningful for the future of Rwandan sport.”
