RHA Director General Alphonse Rukaburandekwe said that the project is now at more than 65 per cent adding that the delays were mainly caused by procurement challenges and technical adjustments related to drainage works. The delay in installation of artificial turf was caused by challenges in importing the required equipment, which were further compounded by supply chain disruptions at Dar es Salaam Port in Tanzania, he said. He added that additional works not initially included in the plan also contributed to the setback. There were also technical reasons. We found that drainage systems were needed as well. The original plan only focused on grass installation, he said. Despite the delay, the project is set to be completed in early August, he noted.
