RwandAir has been recognised as the Best Cabin Service in Africa at the 2026 APEX Best Awards, a passenger-driven recognition that highlights airlines delivering exceptional onboard experiences. The award was presented on June 10 during the APEX FTE EMEA 2026 Conference in Dublin, Ireland, where the Airline Passenger Experience Association (APEX) honoured regional carriers that have excelled in key aspects of passenger satisfaction. In a statement, the national carrier said the recognition reflects its commitment to delivering high-quality service across its network. “Driven by a commitment to exceptional customer experience, we will continue to create inspiring journeys and make every flight truly special,” it said. RwandAir's recognition came alongside Ethiopian Airlines which was named Best Overall Airline in Africa, while South African Airways won the Best Food and Beverage category. The APEX Best Awards are based on independent passenger feedback collected through TripIt from Concur, a travel organisation platform used by millions of travellers globally. Passengers anonymously rate their flight experiences on a five-star scale across categories including cabin service, food and beverage, seat comfort, and onboard Wi-Fi. According to APEX, the awards draw on ratings covering nearly 600 airlines worldwide, making them one of the industry's largest passenger-based benchmarks. Over the past several years, RwandAir has invested in enhancing the customer journey, from digital services and onboard hospitality to improved connectivity across its growing route network linking Africa, the Middle East, Europe and Asia.
