The rally combines competition with adventure, providing participants with a course that will test endurance, navigation, speed, and technical riding skills. Unlike traditional circuit racing, the event will follow a cross country rally format, with riders starting in groups of 5 competitors per wave. Organisers expect the race to last between three and three-and-a-half hours, depending on terrain conditions and rider performance. Competitors will face varying terrain conditions throughout the route, making preparation, navigation, and race strategy crucial factors in determining the final outcome. According to RAC Secretary General Ange François Cyatangabo, beyond the sporting aspect, the Burera rally also highlights the potential of motorsport to contribute to tourism and local economic activity. “With riders, teams, some officials, and fans expected to travel to the region, local businesses could benefit from increased visibility and visitor spending during the event,” he noted. Activities will begin early on race day with technical inspections scheduled from 6:30 am to 8:30 am, followed by re-inspections and repairs. Riders will then attend a mandatory briefing before transferring to the start area. The official race will get underway at 10:00 am., with the prize giving ceremony expected to take place at 2:00 pm.
