Kepler Basketball have announced that they have mutually parted ways with head coach Mandy Juruni. The experienced Ugandan tactician will be replaced by Rwanda national team legend Aristide Mugabe on an interim basis until the end of the season. Juruni joined Kepler from Ugandan giants City Oilers, where he had enjoyed great success, winning multiple league titles and qualifying for the Basketball Africa League (BAL). He also previously coached the Uganda national team, guiding it to two AfroBasket qualifications. Meanwhile, reports suggest that Kepler could withdraw from Division One basketball and shift focus to volleyball, while also considering a venture into cycling. The institution is reportedly weighing the option of selling its men's team. The women's side, which has enjoyed greater success in recent years, appears less likely to be affected by the changes.
