Delegates attending the second Conference on Public Health in Africa (CPHIA) in Kigali took a break from their busy schedule Wednesday evening and engaged in physical activity as part of the popular Kigali Night Run experience.Organised by the City Hall, the Kigali Night Run is one of the most popular sports and fitness events that attract Kigalians and visitors alike, but unlike the bimonthly car-free day and the annual Kigali International Peace Marathon, this one allows participants to enjoy the city’s evening breeze and dazzling lights.Over 1500 runners, from adults to children, participated in the 5.4km-run that started at 7p.m through 9p.m.The distance stretched from Kigali Convention Centre-Kigali Heights roundabout to the Primature roundabout -- and back.It was a particularly refreshing moment for delegates and other participants as they ran up and down the two modest hills, along streets illuminating with dazzling festive lights and decorations.The event also saw participants undertake aerobics and stretch sessions.The New Times’ Craish Bahizi captured some of the moments.
