Sunday, May 17 APR FC 3-0 Rutsiro FC APR FC were crowned 2025/26 BK Pro League national champions after securing a record-extending 24th league title and their seventh consecutive championship with two games to spare. The army side sealed the title without needing to play on the decisive day, but Sunday’s emphatic 3-0 victory over struggling Rutsiro FC at Kigali Pele Stadium provided the perfect occasion to celebrate the achievement in front of their fans. Goals from William Togui in the 21st minute, Djibril Ouattara in the 40th, and Gilbert Byiringiro in the 54th secured a comfortable win for APR while pushing Rutsiro FC deeper into the relegation zone. With 62 points and two matches remaining, APR are mathematically guaranteed to finish as the highest-ranked local team in the league standings. Rayon Sports and SC Kiyovu, currently fourth and fifth respectively, can no longer catch them. Rayon Sports can only reach a maximum of 58 points, while SC Kiyovu’s highest possible total is 57, confirming APR’s title triumph before the end of the campaign. As league champions, APR FC have also secured Rwanda’s slot in the 2026/27 CAF Champions League. Elsewhere, Musanze FC edged Gasogi United 3-2 at Ubworoherane Stadium, while on Saturday Al Hilal continued their impressive form with a 1-1 draw against Police FC. In the relegation battle, Amagaju FC boosted their survival hopes with a crucial 1-0 victory over Al Merrikh, courtesy of a lone goal from Richard Mapoli. Amagaju now sit 14th on the table with 34 points and need just one more point to guarantee top-flight survival when they face 17th-placed AS Muhanga on matchday 33.
