Thursday, May 7 Results APR 0-4 Al Hilal SC Al Merrikh 4-1 Etincelles Al Hilal Omdurman produced a commanding performance to thrash APR FC 4-0 at Kigali Pelé Stadium on May 7, extending their lead at the top of the BK Pro League table to nine points. The Sudanese giants scored twice in each half to move within one game of clinching the league title in their debut season in Rwanda’s top flight. El Hadj Madicke Kane opened the scoring in the 12th minute from a free kick awarded after Gilbert Byiringiro fouled Jean Claude Girumugisha. Al Hilal doubled their advantage in the 33rd minute when APR defender Abdoul Ishimwe turned the ball into his own net while attempting to clear a dangerous delivery. The visitors continued their dominance after the break, with Abdelrazeg Yagoub Omer Taha making it 3-0 in the 67th minute. Ishimwe lost possession inside the box, allowing Taha to capitalize on the defensive error and score with ease. Yagoub Yousif completed the rout in the 79th minute after APR goalkeeper Yvan Ruhamyankiko failed to deal with the ball, gifting Al Hilal their fourth goal of the night. The victory leaves Al Hilal top of the standings with 67 points from 30 matches, while APR dropped to third place with 56 points. Al Merrikh climbed to second with 58 points after coming from behind to defeat Etincelles FC 4-1 earlier at Kigali Pelé Stadium. Although Al Hilal are on course to win the league title, they are not eligible to represent Rwanda in CAF interclub competitions. As a result, the highest-placed Rwandan club will qualify for the CAF Champions League.
