The City of Kigali-sponsored club thumped Espoir 4-0 to close the gap at the top within just one point while Kiyovu were back to winning ways with a narrow 1-0 victory over Police. Times Sport brings to you a complete wrap up of all the games. At the Kigali Stadium, a 72nd minute strike from Erisa Ssekisambu was all that Kiyovu Sports needed to beat Police FC by 1-0 and bounce back from Gasogi setback. The Green Baggies were without Congolese Alain-Andre Landeut on the touchline after he was last week reassigned from his coaching role to Sporting Manager. Joshua Mbanza and Ugandan forward Benson Muhindo scored consolation goals for the Rwamagana District-sponsored club. Elsewhere, Maxwell Njoumekou scored the lone goal in 79th minute to help visiting Gasogi United shock Musanze FC with a 1-0 victory on Sunday at Ubworoherane Stadium in Musanze while Djarudi Iradukunda’s late winner in the 92nd minute helped Bugesera register a surprise victory against Mukura VC during Sunday’s clash at Huye Stadium. In one of the most entertaining fixtures so far this season, Etincelles FC defeated league leaders Rayon Sports 3-2 in a result that left Francis Haringingo’s side feeling much pressure from rivals in the race for the title. Ibrahim Niyonsenga opened the scoring for the host in the first minute with a header before Moro Sumaila scored in the 26th and 38th minute respectively to end the first half leading the Blues 3-0. Rayon came in the second half looking to make a comeback and they had to wait for a goal until Prince Rudasingwa scored in the 70th minute to reduce the deficit. Moussa Camara added the second in the 92nd minute but Etincelles’ men remained too resilient to concede another and hence took home maximum points. In-form Hussein ‘Tshabalala’ Shabani hit a brace as Moise Nyarugabo and Gilbert Dusingimana also found the back of the net to help AS Kigali defeat relegation-threatened Espoir FC 4-0 at Kigali Stadium to close the gap at the top of the table within one point. Marine FC recorded a goalless draw with Gorilla FC as the Navy club continued their stay at the bottom of the league table. Rutsiro hosts defending champions APR FC on Monday, December 12 at Umuganda Satdium. The military have failed to win a league game during their past four outings and a win over Rutsiro in Rubavu would see them back in the title race.
