Israeli foreign minister calls Nduhungirehe in solidarity during Genocide commemoration

Israel’s foreign minister Gideon Sa'ar has held a phone conversation with his Rwandan counterpart Olivier Nduhungirehe to express solidarity as the country commemorates the 1994 Genocide against the Tutsi. “Had a good conversation with Rwanda’s FM Olivier Nduhungirehe. I expressed solidarity with Rwanda, on behalf of the Government and people of Israel, during the week marking 32 years since the genocide against the Tutsi,” he posted via X on Friday, April 10. He added that the two officials discussed developments in their respective regions, including an update on the Iran conflict. In response, also via X, Nduhungirehe thanked Sa’ar for the message of solidarity, noting that they also discussed about the security situation in their respective regions. “I look forward to deepening our relations through regular engagements and exchange of visits,” he said.
