I&M Bank (Rwanda) Plc has partnered with Hanlink Motors to introduce a vehicle financing scheme aimed at making car ownership more accessible to individuals and businesses. Under Agiserera na I&M Bank, the bank will finance up to 100 per cent on electric vehicles, and up to 80 per cent of the cost of engine vehicles purchased from Hanlink Motors, with customers required to pay only a 20 per cent upfront deposit. The remaining balance can then be repaid over a flexible period of four to five years. The partnership was announced on Friday, March 27, during the official unveiling of Hanlink Motors Rwanda’s showroom, marking a significant step in the company’s expansion within the local automotive sector. Bruce Niko, Relationship Manager at I&M Bank (Rwanda) Plc, said the initiative is designed to support both personal and business vehicle acquisition while easing the burden of high upfront costs. “We want to help our clients afford their dream cars, whether for personal use or business purposes,” he said, adding that the flexible repayment plan allows customers to manage their finances more effectively. For Hanlink Motors, the partnership directly addresses one of the biggest challenges in the automotive market -- limited access to financing. “Financing is the biggest challenge for customers who want to afford brand-new vehicles. That’s why we are working with a commercial bank,” said Richard Musani, Group Head of Marketing at Hanlink Motors. Hanlink Motors also underscored its commitment to customer support, including after-sales services, emergency assistance, and technician training programmes, particularly in upcountry locations. During the event, the company showcased its range of Sinotruk commercial vehicles, including tractor trucks (Howo NX and TX), light-duty trucks, tipper trucks, and the Sinotruk Bolden S6 Double Cabin Pickup. It also unveiled its digital platforms to enhance customer engagement and accessibility.
