Rwanda head coach Stephen Constantine expressed his delight after guiding the national team to the FIFA Series 2026 title in Kigali. Amavubi secured the trophy with a 2–0 victory over Estonia in the Group A final at Amahoro Stadium on Monday, March 30. Goals from Abeddy Biramahire and Leroy Jacques Mickels in either half sealed the win for the hosts, who lifted the trophy in front of tens of thousands of fans, including President Paul Kagame, at the 45,000-seater stadium. “I’m happy for everyone in the country, especially the players. It was very hard to get here, but I’m just happy,” Constantine said. The English tactician praised his team’s performance, noting the challenge posed by Estonia. “I think it’s been good for us—a nice challenge. The game against Estonia is still very fresh in our minds, and I’m happy with the performance the boys gave. To win such a game is never easy, but it’s part and parcel of football.” Constantine is enjoying a promising start to his second spell in charge of Amavubi and believes the team can build on this momentum ahead of upcoming competitions. “I think we’ve done really well, and now our focus shifts to the next tournaments. Obviously, we want to continue the good work from the last two matches and maintain the same spirit,” he added. During the tournament, Constantine rotated his squad to give most players valuable game time as he works toward identifying his strongest lineup for future fixtures. “The idea was to give everyone a chance to get on the pitch, play some minutes, represent the country, and add to the overall quality we have,” he explained.
