The Ministry of Defence and the Rwanda Defence Force (RDF) on Thursday, March 26, hosted Defence Attachés and associates accredited to Rwanda for a security briefing at Defence Headquarters in Kimihurura. Brig Gen Patrick Karuretwa, Director General of International Military Cooperation at the Ministry of Defence, said the regular briefing serves as a valuable platform for frank dialogue on regional and global security. ALSO READ: Rwanda, China sign defence cooperation agreement “This platform is especially important in the increasingly volatile international security environment we are all navigating,” Karuretwa said. “Conflicts are escalating, strategic alliances are being tested, and the rules-based international order is under unprecedented pressure. Genuine and constructive partnerships are a strategic imperative.” Senior RDF officers delivered presentations followed by an interactive session. The event was attended by defence attachés and associates from Angola, Brazil, Botswana, China, Denmark, Egypt, Ethiopia, France, Ghana, Germany, Israel, Italy, Japan, Jordan, Kenya, Luxembourg, Morocco, Namibia, Poland, Qatar, the Republic of Korea and Russia. Other countries represented were Senegal, Sudan, Sweden, Tanzania, Türkiye, Uganda, the Netherlands, the United Kingdom, the United States of America, Zimbabwe, as well as the European Union and the International Committee of the Red Cross.
