Amavubi captain Djihad Bizimana has expressed confidence in Rwanda’s readiness to face Grenada in Friday’s 2026 FIFA Series clash. The crucial Group A encounter, set to be played at Amahoro Stadium on Friday, will determine who will reach the final. Speaking during the team’s pre-match press conference on Thursday, the former Al Ahli Tripoli midfielder emphasized the squad’s focus and determination. “From what I have seen in the dressing room, morale is high and the players are ready to battle. Whoever makes the starting eleven will give their all because it’s do or die for us,” Bizimana said. Rwanda heads into the tournament under pressure following a disappointing 2025 campaign. However, Bizimana remains optimistic. “We are very confident that the team will have a good run and a successful FIFA Series, and we shall also learn several things along the way.” Rwanda recently appointed Stephen Constantine as head coach, bringing in vast experience to rebuild the side that has been struggling under Adel Amrouche. “We are ready for the tournament and determined to make Rwandans happy. The coach has been teaching us new tactics and strategies to help us win matches,” Bizimana added. Despite having only a few days to prepare for the international friendly matches, head coach Stephen Constantine says he has already seen encouraging signs from the team. “I didn’t select this squad, and there are quite a few new faces. It is very hard for them to show everything they have in just two days, but we will put the best eleven on the pitch and take it one game at a time,” he said. Rwanda and Grenada are in Group A of the FIFA Series 2026 alongside Kenya and Estonia. Earlier in the day, Kenya will face Estonia at Amahoro Stadium at 8:00pm CAT. The winners from each group will meet in the final, while the remaining teams will play classification matches to conclude the international friendly series. Kigali is hosting the FIFA Series tournament for the first time, marking a significant milestone in Rwanda’s football history.
