The three-day Siga Art Festival concluded on March 21, 2026, in Huye District, bringing together artists, performers and cultural stakeholders in a programme that blended music, heritage and community engagement. The festival opened on March 19 with a creative caravan from Kigali to Huye, during which participants explored historical sites along the route, signaling an effort to link contemporary art with Rwanda’s heritage. On its second day, the festival introduced a symbolic walk dedicated to recognising the contribution of women to the country’s cultural and creative industries. The initiative aligned with broader national and global observances held in March, placing emphasis on gender inclusion within the arts. The final day’s concert, hosted by MCs Tino and Anita Pendo, drew a strong turnout despite early concerns over heavy rainfall in Huye. Improved weather conditions later in the day allowed the event to proceed as planned, with audiences filling the venue for an evening of live performances. The lineup featured a mix of established and emerging artists. Artistes including Massamba Intore, Riderman, Juno Kizigenza, Mani Martin, Christopher, Kevin Kade and Bwiza headlined the event, supported by other performers across different genres. Beyond the stage, the festival highlighted Huye’s potential as a destination for cultural events. By combining artistic showcases with community-centred activities, Siga Art Festival demonstrated a model that extends the impact of entertainment into cultural promotion and local engagement.
