Rwanda's Fanny Utagushimaninde has become the first woman to score a hundred on T20I debut. She smashed 111 not out off 65 balls against Ghana in Lagos in the Nigeria Invitational Women's T20I Tournament. At 15 years and 223 days, Utagushimaninde was also the youngest to score a hundred in women's T20Is. The previous record for the highest individual score by a woman on T20I debut belonged to Australia's Karen Stilton, who scored 96 not out against England in Taunton in 2005, in what was only the second women's T20I ever. The record for the youngest centurion was with Uganda's Prosscovia Alako earlier. She was 16 years and 233 days old when she scored 116 against Mali in Kigali in 2019. In men's cricket, four batters have scored a hundred on T20I debut, but none from a Full Member team. Canada's Matthew Spoors leads the way with 108 not out against Philippines in 2022. France's Gustav Mckeon is the youngest man to score a T20I hundred at the age of 18 years and 280 days. Utagushimaninde's hundred helped Rwanda post 210 for 3; the next highest score was Merveille Uwase's 32 not out off 19 balls, just pipping the 28 extras that included 25 wides. In response, Ghana could manage only 88 for 8 in their 20 overs, losing the match by 122 runs.
