This case is virtually without parallel in major international football — a completed tournament result overturned long after the final whistle. Its implications stretch far beyond the scoreline, cutting into the very fabric of how the game is governed. CAF’s decision is not merely about one match; it is a statement on discipline, authority, and the ongoing struggle to reinforce credibility within African football.
