On Sunday, the South Ethiopia regional government gave a higher death toll of 125. More than 11,000 people have been ‌displaced, the regional government's communications office said in a statement on its Facebook account. Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed visited the scene of the landslides on Saturday to condole with local residents and pledged government support, according to a post on his X account on Saturday.
