Thursday, March 12 Police 0-0 Rayon Sports Rayon Sports and Police FC played out a goalless draw in the first leg of the 2026 Peace Cup quarterfinals on Thursday at Kigali Pele Stadium. The tense encounter was marked by high pressing from both sides, but neither side managed to convert the chances they created. Rayon Sports came close to opening the scoring early in the match, but Fall Ngagne, Paul Jesus Sindi, and Aziz Bassane failed to capitalize on several scoring opportunities while Police FC’s defence looked shaky at times. In the second half, Ngagne, Elie Ganijuru, Didier Mugisha, and Asman Ndikumana also had promising chances, but goalkeeper Onesime Rukundo produced crucial saves to keep Police FC in the game. It proved to be a missed opportunity for Rayon Sports, who enjoyed the upper hand for most of the match but could not find the breakthrough. Towards the end of the game, Police FC nearly snatched a late winner when Ekeson Okorie, Lague Byiringiro, and Prince Rudasingwa all had chances following a scramble in the box, but none managed to finish. Despite his solid performance throughout the match, Rayon Sports goalkeeper Olivier Kwizera almost gifted Police a goal after mistakenly passing the ball to Okorie, but his teammates quickly intervened to avert the danger. Police FC were reduced to 10 men after Richard Kilongozi was shown a second yellow card in stoppage time after fouling Aziz Bassane. Rayon Sports were also forced into early substitutions due to injuries, with Emery Bayisenge, Abedi Bigirimana, and Didier Mugisha replaced by Emmanuel Nshimiyimana, Asman Ndikumana, and Tony Kitoga, respectively. The second leg is scheduled for March 19, 2026, at Kigali Pele Stadium.
