APR FC will visit Gasogi United at Kigali Pelé Stadium on Wednesday for the first leg of the 2026 Peace Cup quarterfinals. The match headlines the quarterfinal fixtures after both teams progressed from the Round of 16. The other matches will see Bugesera FC host Etincelles FC in Nyamata, while Gorilla FC take on AS Kigali earlier at Kigali Pelé Stadium. Speaking ahead of the match, Gasogi United president Kakoza Nkuriza Charles admitted that APR canwas optimistic that his side can eliminate APR FC from the competition “What we want is to knock them out. We know APR are stronger than us and have big-name players, but we are ready for the match and we will make sure we start well in the first leg,” he said. KNC is well known for making bold statements ahead of matches, often aimed at stirring excitement and drawing large crowds to the stadium. The two teams have recent history in the competition. In 2025, APR FC eliminated Gasogi United 1-0 on aggregate while, in the 2024 Peace Cup quarterfinals, Gasogi United knocked APR out 4-3 on penalties after both legs ended goalless. The Peace Cup remains one of Rwanda’s most prestigious football competitions, known for its competitiveness and its role in promoting unity through sport. Beyond national pride, the tournament also carries continental significance, as the winner automatically qualifies to represent Rwanda in the CAF Confederation Cup.
