Marines FC stunned SC Kiyovu with a 2–1 victory at Kigali Pele Stadium in a rescheduled Rwanda Premier Leaguematch played on Tuesday. In the second half, Francis Haringingo’s team responded through Christophe Bukuru, who pulled one back in the 57th minute as Kiyovu pushed for a comeback. However, Marines remained composed and held their nerve to secure three crucial points in Kigali. The victory lifted Marines to ninth place with 30 points, while Kiyovu stayed seventh with 33 points. Elsewhere, Police FC’s hopes of winning their first league title suffered another setback after a 1–0 defeat to Al Merrikhon Monday, March 9. Mohamed Gbane scored the decisive goal with a powerful header in the 80th minute, moving his side up to second place on the table with 44 points. The law enforcers have now gone eight league matches without a victory.
