Stefano Napolitano and Joel Schwaerzler renew the battle of Rwanda Challenger 75 title in Sunday’s final replay at IPRC Kigali Ecology Tennis Club. The Schwaerzler was 7-65 2-3 ahead of Napolitano on Saturday before the rain interrupted the match, prompting the umpire to suspend it. The final will now resume on Sunday, March 8 at 11 am at the same venue. Schwaerzler booked a ticket to the final after defeating Italy’s Marco Cecchinato in straight sets, 6–2, 7–6(8) on Friday while Napolitano who entered the main draw after playing in the qualifying round edged out pre-tournament favourite Arthur Gea in the semifinal in three sets, 7–6(3), 5–7, 6–3 After the first-week final, the tournament will continue with the ATP Challenger 100, scheduled to take place at the same venue from March 9 to 15. Rwandans Claude Ishimwe and Etienne Niyigena start in the qualifying round against Matteo Covato and Marrero Curbelo respectively.
