Rwanda Basketball Federation (FERWABA) has signed a sponsorship deal with Bralirwa through its Cheetah energy drink brand, a deal that will see the beverages firm support the federation for the next four years. Under the partnership, BRALIRWA, through its Cheetah brand, becomes the official energising sponsor and exclusive beverage partner of the Rwanda Basketball League. The sponsorship will cover Division 1 and Division 2 competitions, including the playoffs. Speaking about the partnership, BRALIRWA Plc Managing Director Ethel Emma-Uche said the company is proud to renew and further strengthen its collaboration with FERWABA, reaffirming its commitment to the growth of basketball in Rwanda. “As one of the fastest growing sports in the country, basketball plays a vital role in uniting communities, inspiring young talent, and promoting excellence,” she said. “Through this partnership, we seek to make a meaningful contribution to the development of the game while creating engaging and memorable experiences for fans across the country. We firmly believe in the power of sport to drive positive impact, and we are confident that this collaboration will elevate Rwandan basketball to even greater heights over the next four years,” she added. FERWABA President Desire Mugwiza welcomed the partnership, saying it marks a significant milestone for the development of basketball in Rwanda. “We believe this four-year agreement will strengthen our flagship competitions, enhance youth development programs, and contribute to the long-term growth and professionalism of the sport. Together, we look forward to creating more opportunities for players, clubs, and the entire basketball community across the country,” he noted. FERWABA officials said the strategic partnership is a significant step toward strengthening the Rwanda Basketball League, increasing youth participation, and enhancing the overall basketball ecosystem.
