The fixture had initially been abandoned on Saturday due to waterlogged pitch. Before the interruption, the hosts were leading 1–0 thanks to a 16th-minute strike from Martin Fabrice Twizerimana. Police returned on Sunday fully aware that defeat would severely dent their title ambitions, especially after APR FC edged Gorilla FC 2–1 at Kigali Pelé Stadium on Friday.
