Striker William Togui scored twice as APR FC came from behind to beat Gorilla FC 2-1 at Kigali Pele Stadium on Friday, February 27, moving level on points with leaders Al Hilal in the Rwanda Premier League. Gorilla started brightly and took a surprise lead in the 23rd minute through Khalifa Traore. APR returned from the break with renewed urgency. Togui equalised just a minute into the second half to shift momentum in favour of the defending champions. The match looked headed for a draw until Togui struck again in stoppage time, netting the winner in the 90 4th minute to seal a dramatic victory and three crucial points for the military side. The win lifts APR to 42 points, level with Al Hilal, who have played three fewer matches and remain top on goal difference. Gorilla stay 14th with 22 points. Elsewhere, Gasogi United held Al Merrikh to a 1-1 draw at Kigali Stadium earlier on Friday Nicolas Rijaniaina gave Al Merrikh the lead in the 20th minute, but Ebenezeri Niyigena equalised for Gasogi in the 60th. The result leaves Al Merrikh third with 41 points, while Gasogi United remain 10th on 25 points.
